Who Leo Actually Is
Leo runs July 23 to August 22 and the Sun rules it, which isn't a planet and doesn't orbit anything. Everything else arranges itself around it. That's the job description: be the fixed point other people take their bearings from, and do it by being warm, by being generous, and by never, under any circumstances, letting the room see you doubt yourself.
Fixed fire means the heat is constant and the position doesn't move. A Leo that has decided something has decided it, and no amount of evidence will relitigate the matter. What changes is the temperature. You're either being warmed by this person, which is one of the better experiences available anywhere, or you've been moved out into the cold, which is unmistakable and can last for years.

Leo cannot receive. Watch it the next time somebody tries to help: the deflection, the joke, the immediate return gift that cancels the debt inside a week. Giving is the position of strength and Leo won't step down from it, which means the person closest to it can spend a decade being magnificently looked after and never once being needed. It's a particular kind of loneliness, and it runs in both directions at once.
It also can't say the plain sentence. "I was wrong" arrives, if it arrives at all, wrapped in charm, or delivered as a present, or performed so gorgeously that the admission itself goes missing in transit. Pride isn't the fear of being wrong. It's the fear of being seen small, and a Leo will let a twenty-year friendship die rather than make the call that would look like begging.

Leo courts properly, the way almost nobody bothers to anymore. There is a court, though, and you're in it. Leo's friendships have a shape, with Leo at the center, and the arrangement works beautifully as long as nobody else applies for the position.
