Methodology
How Zodaiya Works
Astronomy is calculated first. AI interpretation is disclosed. Symbolic guidance is kept separate from prediction.
Method reviewed 2026-07-15.
calculated
Calculated astronomy
Zodaiya uses the open-source Astronomy Engine library. The application calculates geocentric ecliptic longitude, assigns 30 degrees to each tropical zodiac sign, derives lunar phase and retrograde direction, and checks five major aspects.
Zodaiya calculates geocentric ecliptic longitudes for the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, then maps each longitude to the tropical zodiac.

Birth-chart inputs and limits
Date, time and place do different jobs. The date locates the slower placements. Time sharpens the Moon and is essential for the Ascendant. Place resolves coordinates and the birth-place time zone. When required data is missing, the calculator omits the unsupported placement.
The Sun uses the birth date. The Moon requires a usable time, and the Rising sign requires a time and a resolved birth place. Unsupported placements are omitted.
interpreted
Daily horoscope generation
The daily generator receives a computed sky snapshot before it asks the language model to write. The shared prompt requires every personal statement to trace to a supplied placement, aspect, traditional correspondence or user input. Daiya is the visible AI guide for this prose, not a human astrologer.
The daily generation prompt receives computed planetary positions, aspects, lunar phase and retrograde status. It is instructed not to invent astronomical facts or present symbolism as prediction.
calculated
Compatibility scoring
The quick compatibility score is a limited sun-sign comparison, not a synastry verdict. It starts with the angular relationship between signs, then applies small element, modality and documented pair adjustments. The generated prose must explain the fixed result rather than invent a new score.
The sun-sign score is deterministic. A fixed scoring function calculates it before the generated explanation is requested, and the API overwrites any model-supplied score with the calculated value.
symbolic
Tarot draw and interpretation
The draw and the interpretation are separate operations. Multi-card spreads select cards and orientations from a 78-card deck using an account-and-date seed. A typed question enters the interpretation prompt after the draw, so it cannot steer which cards appear.
Multi-card spreads use a 78-card deck seeded by account and date. The optional question is added only after card names, positions and orientations have been selected.
calculated
Numerology arithmetic
Life Path and Personal Year numbers use digit reduction while preserving 11, 22 and 33 as master numbers. Name-based values use the documented Pythagorean A-to-Z number cycle. The numbers are calculated before any symbolic prose is requested.
Life Path, Personal Year and name-based numbers are produced by deterministic digit reduction and a documented Pythagorean letter map before any prose is generated.
traditional
Chinese zodiac scope
The calculator is a birth-year and five-element feature. For dates from 1900 through 2030, it applies the Lunar New Year boundary so January and early-February births can resolve to the previous zodiac year. Its maintained boundary table is checked against the Hong Kong Observatory calendar conversion tables. Other years use the year cycle only. It is not presented as a full BaZi or Four Pillars chart.
For dates from 1900 through 2030, births before Lunar New Year are assigned to the previous zodiac year using a maintained Gregorian-lunar boundary table. Other years use the year cycle without claiming an exact January/February boundary.
symbolic
Egyptian-inspired symbolic mapping
This feature is a modern Zodaiya correspondence system inspired by Egyptian deities, mythic themes and decan language. Its date-to-deity mapping is not presented as a recovered ancient Egyptian natal practice. Generated readings keep project correspondences distinct from calculated sky data.
The feature maps calendar dates to a project-defined set of deity correspondences. It uses Egyptian mythology as a reflective lens and keeps those correspondences separate from computed astronomy.
researched
Research and authorship
Research-oriented articles display their saved source list. The publishing pipeline runs automated source and unsupported-claim checks, but Zodaiya does not describe automation as human expert review. Articles attributed to Daiya identify Daiya as an AI guide.

Data handling
Current writes for birth time, place and coordinates use application-layer AES-256-GCM encryption. Dream descriptions and sensitive journal text use the same field-encryption layer. Zodaiya does not sell personal data, and account controls support export and deletion.

Payments and subscriptions
Creating a My Stars account does not require a card. Stripe hosts paid checkout and billing management. Subscription cancellation is available through the billing portal; Zodaiya does not publish refund or popularity claims without a documented policy or measured basis.
The free account path does not collect card details. Paid checkout and subscription management use Stripe-hosted pages.
limits
What Zodaiya does not claim
- Astrological interpretation is not presented as scientifically validated prediction.
- Readings are not medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice.
- Daiya is not a human practitioner and has no human credentials.
- Traditional or symbolic correspondences are not evidence that a real-world decision is correct.
- A sun-sign comparison is not a substitute for a full relationship chart.
